I'm giving my vote to Serene Flight's mug. The time that must've been put into her hair shows.

Good thing all of my essay due-dates were pushed back to next week then, because now I can RP instead of worrying about that. And so I'm posting tomorrow.

Too much coffee intake. x3
That's great, though I never did think of what a noncombatant's dopplegangers would do... Damnit rock, you already broke my RP! naw I'm just kidding. Is your dancer open to having a catfight with herself? That'd be endearing...

Fun Fact: I've been her for six and half years and I haven't hosted an RP on my own before. That ends now.

At this very moment I lack a visible profile, but I'm gung-ho right now and Mr. Sky Leader told me my profile checked out, so why not start this up early. So the low-down:

A nameless, generic town we're mostly uninterested in that resides in Araducia has a legend we're mostly interested in. A hut at the edge of town has the bulimic habit of regurgitating the corpses of whoever enters, and with a ghastly twist...! Anyway read the post here for the backstory but uh we're all stuck in a demon's world that we were sucked into so they could feast on us. It's a labyrinth and it'll take us approximately a whole RP to escape.

Signups are quite open. Join with whoever you want, but if you're a really high level then I'll have to raise the combat bar and you'll end up babying poor little Kierra, my level one Mercenary. People limit is pretty flexible. I'm going to set it at five including Kierra and if any more ask I'll probably let them in anyway! So:

1. Space Flower - Kierra Kaeri
2. Agent R - Grace Fen-Rufierre
3. Sety of Silesia - Andrew Vastor
4. Emy - Venus Aureliana
5. Musketeer - Zanzib

Dumb Question: What should I do if someone joins with a character named Open Slot?

Swee-kun, there's an open spot, and so I was thinking, you know, could my Kierra join?
She's a Mercenary hopefully to be approved (I think I didn't mess up? I'm pretty used to turning in profiles.) and would be level one as a result.

Attributing thoughts is just like using a source in an essay. You usually paraphrase; direct quotations are only necessary when you want their exact words for impact. If your character is thinking that they're hungry, it would be completely unnecessary to quote them thinking, "I'm hungry." But if your character has a thought with flair or wit, you may want to take their exact words.

(Kyaaaaa~ [obligatory self-deprecatory comment on short entry])

Name: Jenna Dorr

Age: 15 (I... I humbly request permission for my character to be below the recommended age... and yes, sir, I did get the memo!)

Creation Points: 15

Appearance: When one visualizes a teenage girl, not often does one picture a haggard, pitiful lass, with two sets of secondhand clothing to her name. A girl who looks nearly feral; her brown, sun-bleached hair is sheltered from comb and scissor alike, and her shorts are tattered remnants of old jeans. The sole contrast to her unkempt look is a set of radiant blue eyes. Her father's Native American heritage flows through Jenna's blood and manifests its presence through a brown skin tone, though not a full-blooded bronze. Her face is soft and rounded, a lucky trait considering how common malnutrition is to Jenna. Her body is more indicative of a weak diet. Her frame is irreparably frail, and her muscles aren't useful for much more than supporting her own weight. ([note on poorly written, unsatisfying appearance section])

Background: Life was given to Jenna on a silver, diamond-encrusted platter. From the beginning, her parents vowed to abandon their hedonistic lives and give their daughter everything. Their affection, their patience, and even their multimillion-dollar inheritance. Everything was set up for her, the little princess. An estate, servants, private schooling... It would all be for her.

The plans for Jenna's pampered life were supposed to continue even after her parents died within the crossfire of an Ethiopian conflict. It wasn't terribly hard for the orphan to adjust. After all, she was only six, and the truth was never revealed to her. The parents' will was extensive in its instructions to Jenna's godparent--her grandfather. Her inheritance had disappeared with them in war-torn lands, but they had trusted her grandpa to take care of her with the ample savings they had been giving to him. They never would have foreseen him piling up gambling depts and filing bankruptcy. And that's where they screwed up. Jenna had no other relatives, and her grandfather refused to leave her with an orphanage.

Instead, the girl lived in poverty with her grandpa, jumping from one apartment to another. Jenna took it well for a little girl whose life was consistently flipped topsy-turvy by school transfers and room evictions. Perhaps it was the stories her grandpapa told her about her parents and the grand fortune they possessed. She believed with all of her heart that her parents would come back for her one day and embrace her with their prosperity.

If that day was ever to come, her grandpa was too late to witness it. His mind began to regress, and before Jenna entered high school, he was deemed unable to support himself or his granddaughter. One was put into a nursing home and the other into a children's home. Life began on a silver platter, but in this current state, it festered and molded on the ground.

Jenna refused to put up with her circumstances. A normal girl may have seen through the lie by now, but this stubborn, rebellious girl clung to her imaginary parents--a last, desperate hope. She would give anything to find her mother and father. Determined, Jenna constantly ran away from her shelter. Most of the time she took refuge at a friend's house until she was found out by parents or ratted out. She had numerous problems with the law as well, and none of her options were working out. It seemed like rather than finding a way out of Bethany, Jenna was digging a hole into the town that she would never be able to escape if she continued living as she did.

She wanted a friend who was self-supporting, like... an adult! A kind person, but without any parents waiting like cats to pounce upon Jenna. She was in luck when she met a man named Paeter. After some trouble with demons, the two formed a small bond. (more stuff, then cue RPs! rawr!)

And she's totally cool with that tall, scary bouncer guy that stalks the streets. They're tight, man.

She spread herself out on the ground, brazenly exposing the butter on the toast, which was the freshest butter that could be procured from her own body--she had thought of the idea as an alternative to breastfeeding her son, who was currently fourteen. She had heard the boy was quite fond of the butter she purchased, ignorant of its secret origins. The idea may sound perverted, but the boy was just as dirty-minded. He had a fetish for maids, and some say that it was a from a California pasture that he had tamed a wild Cow, whatever that was. Though the cow was a paranoid one, who was always frightened and believed that when children came to see him they were laughing at his smelly poop as well as the trouble he had getting up after being tipped; a joke perhaps?

She picked up her son and set him inside a glass cage daintily, it was very expensive crystalware after all and one would have to pay a very pretty penny in order to even hold one of these and to shatter them would simply be an insult to the craftsman, but it was also insured for an amount totaling to seventeen-thousand dollars, which was why she was placing her hyperactive, violent son inside of it. She examined the liquid within his eyeballs, noticing a very distinct smell that she had no recollection of. However, the smell of the poisoned drink beside her was something that she recognized all too clearly. "This drink is poisoned," she said, staring at her son who had decided to squash the glass full of liquid as if it were the roadkill squirrel her uncle had ran over with his car while they were driving to the whorehouse alongside the academy. She promptly washed her feet, and, after having been zombefied by her previously sexy but now rotting and putrefied Filipino lover, stood up and left her son, who was eating a meal inside his cage, unattended, and dumped the contents of her skirt into the trash. No longer could the law force her to wear panties. She then clapped her hands and transmuted the glass into a nearby piece of a decorative foliage with alchemy. It was past her bedtime, and she did not to go to school anyhow, so she went to bed.

She woke up the next morning and she reminded herself that she had left her son in the glass cage as she approached the limousine.

((Well!! I didn't delete a single letter, space, or punctuation from Cless's entry...!))

"Ara," Cless sighed heavily--sweat trickled down his forehead, rolled down his back, slithered down his leg. His exhaustion took him by the leftmost hand to a joyride down Memory Lane, a street Cless had lived on in the third grade of middle school, commonly referred to as the, quote unquote, "eighth grade." The current Cless, in his wet, smelly, fatigued state, recalled a time during his enrollment in junior high school when he had been sweating profusely. In fact, the situation then and now were exactly alike. It was deja vu.

Speaking of deja vu, something was familiar about this particular day. As if today had so far iterated a total of ten-thousand eight-hundred and fifty three times. Could Cless have landed himself in an infinite time loop!?

"Okay, we have a problem now," he commented gravely, wiping a drenched brow with his sleeve.

Tiffany walked from rock to rock with an erratic stride that slowed when she had to regain balance, then quickened as she found her groove, which she lost whenever she stepped upon a loose rock. The precarious footing reminded the druid of her current relationship with Yui. 'Friends with benefits' meant one thing to Tiffany, and another thing altogether to the fellow Valhassan girl. The pair parted ways earlier because the redhead had no interest in getting touchy-feely, nor did Tiffany posses a bottomless wallet. But the current Tiffany remained rich from mercenary work and from whatever being around Janorek entailed. Money practically dropped from the sky when following the devilish bandit.

In a more literal sense, the rocks were reminiscent of eroded trails of boulders often found alongside bodies of water. Perhaps Nagarath was not always a wasteland. Beside the girl, her companions walked upon softer, cooler ground--not that rocks were terribly hot. Tiffany detested the long stretches of sand. Scorched earth was everywhere, but when treading through sand, her feet sunk in. The difference between rock and sand was akin to slapping a hot potato away rather than catching and tossing it. As a plus, Tiffany had become energetic and hopping along the stones occupied some of her attention.

Shade? Tiffany delightedly jumped at the prospect, though she had optimal equipment for a tanless traveler. Her full-body robes hid her skin from the sun's radiation, yet the clothing was baggy and the desert winds along her feet carried upward along her body. She had wisely chosen to wear nothing else, though the decision stemmed more from habit than from prudent preparation.

"Not too much farther? But," Tiffany moaned restlessly, "I'm out of water as it is." (She essentially chugged her jugs of water after every refill. In her defense, she took less rest stops to relieve herself as a result.) She gave the archer a pleading look. "Yui, can you spare a drink of water?"

The archer looked at Tiffany with a weary gaze, but nodded. Tiffany took the bottle and eyed it. One drink left. Well, she did give it to me, she reasoned, and tried to leave one last sip for her benefactor. The leftovers were pitiful and clearly backwashed. Tiffany finished it out of respect and handed it back. "Thanks much." Yui responded with a wordless shrug.

Looking at the horizon, Tiff could see tall formations, but she could not read the distance, as hot air obscured and warped far-away land. She wasn't concerned about the length of the journey to the elevated earth ahead, but rather the village beyond it.
