I brew almost exclusively for standard because standard, while expensive during cycles, is way easier to pay attention to and way easier to build for all possible threats. Also, it's usually fair as long as you don't get stuck playing that one guy who dropped some mad cash on the top tier decks. Other formats allow tons of cards I can't get my hands on and my own library isn't large or varies enough to compete.

Hey, I'm gonna lurk for a little while then maybe see what you goons are up to in late December/January, 'cuz I'll be working instead of going to school so I won't have homework (which will be pretty awesome).

For now though, gotta go learn to love transforms, l8r d00dz (IMG:style_emoticons/blue/cool.gif)

I shall now write a story to end all stories. I am telling you all this because I do believe that it will run alongside this fun and fanciful RP you're writing.

But since this is anarchy mode I can finally do all the cool shit I wanted to do beforehand.

This is gonna be rad.

See if you can keep up. (IMG:style_emoticons/blue/kamina.gif)

Skylessia, Generation III: Zwingleys have taken over the world as supreme divine emperor of all. They are the big bads, and everyone has to fight to overthrow them.

The PCs lose, obviously, and the world ascends into a million years of perfectness.

For serious, though, I say start from scratch, on a landmass that's no more than 1000 km across give or take, and bordered by water on at least two sides, with a couple major lake/river systems to connect the coasts. Also maybe an island off a coast or something.

Also you should have moose knights. Intimidating as hell. And get a lot of the backstory solidified before you start anything (I.E. figure out how the damn magic system works and where the magic comes from).

But yeah, starting from scratch is cool, as long as you don't jump the gun and start before you're ready to start.

Hey guys, just dropping by to let you know that after a month of hanging around, I realized that RPing the way I do on here just isn't for me anymore. I'm impatient and prone to following my whims, and I try to rush a system that is not meant to be rushed. I want to start and finish a story in a week, instead of two months.

Also I have a job now, and am playing rugby 3-4 times a week, and am doing weight training every day, and am taking a religious studies course, and when I do have some free time I'd rather have a bonfire or play video games or (if it's a Saturday night) get drunk with my friends.

I'll still hang around on the boards and on AIM and stuff, and yeah, people are probably gonna be upset with me for just dropping like this, but this last month was the one that showed me, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that this kind of RP just isn't for me anymore, in the same way that console video games may just not be for me anymore. It just demands time that I do not have and am not willing to make room for.

Hey man, no worries. Don't worry about post length. A post can be as long or short as it needs to be to address the situation at hand.

Hey, Darcune, how much of this RP is going to be NPC exposition on your part? I understand Felix freaking out at Midnight, but Lewis and Reggie are not even mentioned until the very end of your post, when Kendrick grins at them. Lewis went out of his way to heal Reggie, and Reggie himself took a knee and offered his lance to Natasha. I would at least expect Natasha to notice this and respond. Even a "Natasha was too overwhelmed by the situation to really notice the knight and the cleric" is better than no mention at all.

Just wondering, is all.

Reggie felt the breath coming back to him. As a matter of fact, he felt a good portion of his energy return to him. The little knight had felt restorative magics before during training sessions: even would-be healers had to practice on someone. Squires would know if the priests in training were practicing on you that day if you had to face full fledged knights in the practice yard instead of each other.

"Thank you for your aid, noble cleric," Reggie said, his voice cracking halfway through the sentence. Puberty be damned, he wasn't losing his cool here! He bowed to the man. "Your assistance in this matter would be most helpful. I would be honoured to work with you."

He'd been paying attention to the selfish man that had all kinds of qualms with offering his assistance free of charge. He could understand that some people simply did not have the means to help out in a martial or monetary fashion, but surely there was something he could have done besides stand around complaining about it. Reggie was taught to treat everyone respectfully, and he knew it was wrong of him to think poorly of a man for looking out for himself.

"Regardless of the other people in this room, you have my lance, my lady," he took a knee, "and I swear upon Maximillion Zwingley himself that I will see your troubles lifted to the best of my ability."

He voice was cracking again. Why couldn't he have gotten the growth spurt before the cracking voice? He'd give a whole lot of things to be taller. For now, Reggie would just have to be content with the fact that he hadn't any horrifying acne to deal with.

This was a fine read for how short it was. That's my only complaint really: it was short and almost everyone dropped off the face of the earth without a decent leaving post. Sadly, dead threads happen, and no one is to blame (IMG:style_emoticons/blue/sad.gif) Because no one except br ouje lly? and Bro had more than 5 posts, I'll only be assessing those two. If anyone else wants commentary, just let me know, but there's not enough there to warrant levels and I'm pretty sure the characters (except Kerrigan) aren't active anyway.

As always, everyone should run their posts through a spell-checker of some kind. It's easy, takes 30 seconds, and I swear it helps you avoid mistakes in the future.

Bro - Fine job running the thread. Marigold was hilarious, and I'm sad he's not around anymore. To be fair, you have a knack for inserting a good deal of hilarity into your writing, and even sight gags are easy to visualize (something I don't come across too often in writing). I always enjoy reading your posts, and am a little disappointed that this thread ended when it did. If Marigold is ever back, give him +2 levels.

br ouje lly? - Man is your name ever difficult to deal with. Hafta consciously remember the spacing and words, but I'm assuming you're going for "bro u jelly?" But that has nothing to do with your RPing. I'll address your writing first.

So, first off, it's common here at FEP to put a character's thoughts in italics. It's just something that's become a standard here, and it makes it easy to distinguish thought from narrative, in much the same way that quotations distinguish speech. For example, instead of saying "Here we go again, thought Gunter", you can simply type "Here we go again." Everyone on this board reading it will know what you're saying. Not saying you have to do it that way, but it's easier to pick out, and helps when you want to have huge internal monologues.

Next, I'd say to flesh things out a little bit. For example, Gunter wandered all over town. Next time, maybe stop and examine some of the things happening around him unrelated to the player characters. This helps to flesh out the scene and to immerse the reader in the story. You can do anything from describing the look of the buildings to the smell of the place.

It's especially useful to flesh out combat scenarios. You said Gunter was charging an enemy from behind, yet he slashed the man's kneecaps. This implies that his enemy was facing him. So now we've got a slight bit of confusion: is he facing Gunter or Marigold? Had he been facing Gunter, and because the enemy was of a higher level than Gunter, he should have at least put up a little bit of a fight. After all, other than a crit (which you don't see too often), how many myrmidons fell an enemy in one blow? Disabling your enemy quickly and without struggle might seem cool, but it's not very fun to read about.

As far as RPing goes, I think you stuck to Gunter's do-goodly-ness pretty well. I was glad that he didn't relent with his suspicions of "Cezar". It would have been nice for this RP to continue, as I was looking forward to the big reveal where Gunter would be proven to be correct in his assumptions.

There was one instance in your second last post where Gunter stopped abruptly and was in awe of "Cezar", but you never actually explained what about him it was that Gunter was in awe of. That ties back in to the fleshing out of things. Overall, I think you did very well for your first RP, so take two levels and 1/4 weapon level in swords. Everyone gets better with practice, and I hope to see you RPing here again in the future.

If anyone has any questions or concerns, just feel free to send me a PM.

Reggie was standing around with about twenty other Zwiist troops. Some were chatting amongst themselves, others were very quiet. One thing everyone was certain of was that it was the calm before the storm.

Reginald Banks was among a massive force of Zwiist knights and priests that had entered Alimond to help with the war effort. Alimond was much closer than Araducia or the Northern Territories, so when word came from Tima Rald that they were to march to Alimond instead of all the way across the continent, most knights couldn't have been happier.

Reggie wasn't one of those knights. He'd been feeling a little lost after being separated from Sir Gammas. And he dare not tell anyone that he let those dark magic users escape him, let alone that he actually worked with them to escape that prison! He'd be looked upon with scorn by everyone in the Order, at best. At worst, he'd be kicked out, or even branded a traitor.

Needless to say, he was deep in thought when a big knight that had been watching out for him the last few weeks gave him a nudge.

"You awake kid? We're probably going to be moving soon."

The big knight, Flanders, had bushy brown hair and a big bushy moustache. He was solid as a rock, and had taken Reggie under his wing when they'd been put in the same squad.

"Yeah, just... thinking," Reggie responded slowly.

"I've been thinking too," Flanders replied, "I'm not much for working with these mages and shamans and whatnot. Makes me feel uneasy, trying to trust 'em. Can't think too much about it though. They're with us, so as long as we all watch each other's backs, things should be fine."

He was trying to cheer Reggie up, and might've done a decent job had another knight not butted in. "Quit being stupid Flanders," he said jokingly. It was Viccam Pike, another knight, and a good friend of Flanders. He was known for exaggeration and pranks, but was just as reliable as anyone else in a tight situation. As the two older knights bantered back and forth, Reggie tried to focus himself for the task at hand.

Stick together, and focus. Max will see us through this. We're here to right the wrong, and we have Max on our side. Just stay calm an- His train of thought was broken when a pegasus marching with the mages began to buck and whinny. He hoped that if he ever had a horse, he'd be able to keep it under control.

He also hoped that the pegasus wasn't getting all riled up because it sensed demons. If the rumours were true, they could be in for a hell of a fight.

Reginald Banks was back on supply duty. He'd left the outpost early that morning to travel to Port Kerchaj. With a huge pile of coin and his list of supplies in his trusty burlap sack, Reggie had marched his way across the northern wilderness for the better part of the day. He'd been walking for so long that it was dark by the time he'd reached the city. With a heavy sigh, Reggie began to wander.

The first thing he'd noticed about the town was that everyone seemed quite content with themselves. Considering Reggie had just come from a battlefield (albeit one he'd never actually fought on), he was shocked at how calm things were here. After the initial shock wore off, Reggie could only be happy that there were no demons bearing down on him: doing chores at the outpost while everyone else was out fighting on the front lines was nerve-wracking. He also still hadn't told anyone about his encounter with those dark magic users. He didn't want to remember it, but being at the outpost meant always fearing that someone would ask. Of course he'd tell the truth (he was a horrible liar), but then he'd be reprimanded. He'd never be a knight proper at this rate!

Trying to keep his chin up, Reggie joined a group of folks down by the docks, whom had been gathered around a fire laughing and singing. They welcomed him with open arms. One younger girl was even flirting with the knight-to-be. He blushed, forgetting that he had been wearing his distinctive armour. After all, it felt so much like regular clothing at this point that he felt stranger without it than with it.

And then the woman ran screaming through the street.

The knight in Reginald knew what had to be done. He took off down the street after her, sprinting as hard as he could. Or, at least, sprinting as hard as a tired, tiny knight in heavy armour could. He was quickly out of breath, and it was everything he could do just to keep her in his sights. He was so far behind, that when he finally caught up to her, he'd missed the entire bar speech.

The miniature knight burst through the door to the bar. "I... will... hooooo... help!" He was sucking wind. "Reginald... Banks of the... Knights of... Zwi! By... my... honor as..." Every string of words was spat as quickly as possible, followed by long wheeze. How very unknightly of him! Reggie tried to straighten himself and control his breathing.

"I... help..."

He hoped she'd get the gist of his message. His throat was burning and he thought he was going to pass out from exhaustion. It was all he could do to stand up. Soon as he calmed down, he told himself, he'd go get a big glass of water. Then maybe sleep. He really hoped that whatever aid she needed was with a morning task. Reggie could've gone for some sleep about now.

Fun thread guys. Tegan and Sara Teagan and Siph had good chemistry, I thought. Support rank approved if ye want it.

Bro: Teagan is everything I would want the average farmboy soldier to be: a little green, initially wowed and terrified of magic, but able to come up with some kind of courage when it was necessary. I liked the humor too, however intentional or unintentional it was, from the swimming to the stabbing the gargoyle in the tree. That, and the fact that he struggled with the fighting, earns you a star in my books. I especially liked that he didn't think that everyone would warm to magic like Siph wanted them to.

Psio: Siph was the rock with which Teagan built his base. She's a lot nicer and more dependable than I thought she'd be, and it was nice to see someone use necromancy for something more practical than "GO FITE MAI BATTULZ". She's a spell slinging machine too, and I liked her optimism. "Everyone should learn staff magic" indeed. I think that's the first time I've ever seen anyone use a repair staff in the five years I've been around Skylessia, so props for that. And clipping the gargoyle's wing to send it crashing into the tree was not only creative, it set up what I felt was the funniest image in the thread: Siph looking on as Teagan stabs at the gargoyle in the tree like a kid poking at a wasp's nest.

Good jorb guys! Teagan gets +3 levels and +3 weapon levels, Siph gets +2 levels, +2 dark and +2 staves.
