I absolutely loved it.

Spoiler: Click Here To Show/Hide This Text
I'm glad that this time there was less human stuff. True, a lot revolved around Sam's whole "being the Allspark" shebang, but I feel Optimus' 4-on-1 against Megatron, Starscream, and whoever the other 2 were totally made up for it. I also enjoyed how what was going on with the army wasn't just their own personal crap, but heavily affected the Autobots as they were on the same team. It made their happenings seem less like human bullcrap.

Sad to say though I didn't recognize half the 'Formers, and Ratchet only got at most 3 lines. Ironhide seems to get a pretty large roll, maybe more than 'Bee this time. Also loved how Skorponok (spl?) was brought back at the end there, him and Blackout. Jazz should have been brought back too though . . . I mean, Blackout was seriously messed up, shot in the crotch and freaking bombed. Jazz only got torn in two. Loved Arcee Triplets though, she sorta made up for it. Once The Fallen got involved it seemed like a Star Wars ripoff, though . . . and the CONSTRUCTICONS! That was sick as all get out. Loved how they needed to pull out a freaking RAILGUN to blow it apart.

So yeah, better than the first IMO.

I barely managed my way through the book. While it's readable without resorting to hurting myself, it's just not very compelling. The story sucks and completely destroys what a vampire actually is, the characters are bland stereotypes that refuse to deviate from their set cliches under any circumstance, and the writing style is just . . . blech.

With a sigh of relief, Yagami lowered his sword and returned it to it's sheath at his side. He unlocked the prison door and the prisoners inside scurried out. Sighing, the scarfed boy searched the ground for his dirk, and found it lying in a pool of blood. Grimacing, Yagami picked it up and put it back in it's now-revealed sheath. Looking down at his arm, he swore. Adrenaline warded the pain away during the battle but it would do no such thing in the aftermath. Yagami's eyes began tearing as the wound bled even more, but he cleared his throat and took a deep breath, then regained composure and walked to the side of the female swordsman he had fought with.

"And what about him?" She questioned her companions. Yagami looked at the two, one another swordsman and the other a mage. They seemed good enough, or at least better than the brigands at his feet.

"I don't want to do this work," Yagami said. "I'm just trying to make a living and I lost my way. It won't happen again. However, if you are on a quest I'll do what you need me. Even though you may have never considered me an enemy, I was still one, and so sparing me now seems to me like I'd owe you. I don't beg or plead, but I ask."

I feel somewhat better knowing that I come from a Canadian family and that we can potentially move back anytime and still have money in our pockets. I guess this somewhat feeds my lack of any political knowledge and care thereof.

Personally I think how things work right now is fine. My thinking is really simple: You don't do what the teacher says, you eventually get kicked out of school. You get kicked out of school, you get shite in terms of job options. you get shite in terms of job options, your future is SOL. Besides, pain is temporary. Most people my age can take a hit (in my experience, mind you) so physical abuse only really sets a bad example. Dropping them out of school is a much more effective way of screwing them up. That's my thinking anywho.

As Yagami stood protecting the prisoners a swordswoman came over and put her blade on his shoulder. What is she doing? Yagami asked himself. He stared right in the eyes of the woman, and she backed off, picking her blade from his shoulder. I hope she trusts me . . . I don't want to do this work any longer . . . Yagami thought. He watched her as she fought, temporarily putting down his guard. Then he saw her get hit. Yagami tightened his grip and focus, and almost started towards her. Wait! The prisoners! Ah, dang! Yagami gritted his teeth, then felt pain in his left arm. He turned and saw a bandit had lodged a blade in Yagami's shoulderpad, and while not cutting through the metal pad, would leave a decent bruise. Yagami turned and attacked the bandit with a stab forward, but the bandit jumped to the side and swung again, this time hitting Yagami's left arm.

Yagami swore as loud as he could as the metal blade cut though the burns of his shrouded skin. Yagami growled and threw his blade into a wall. Then ejected the Combat Dirk in it's now-revealed strap and threw it into the bandit's neck. The bandit stumbled back and fell to the ground, and Yagami grabbed his Dirk quickly. One of his new allies was being attacked, and while a mage seemed to be chanting a spell to help, Yagami wasn't sure how much time it would take. Yagami threw his Dirk, hoping to lodge it in that bandits back, but it spiraled and the hilt smacked the back of his head. "THAT ALWAYS HAPPENS DARN IT!" Yagami yelled. He jumped back to his blade, thinking he could grab the Dirk later, and took up his position with the prisoners again.

The surge of light came as a surprise to the bandits, but Yagami, weary of the trio, had been watching them. He didn't know what it was the one had been doing, but the fire's sudden increase in light warned Yagami. He turned away at the last second and managed to avoid being blinded for the most part. "They're strong," he smirked. "Maybe I should use their help." Yagami, seeing spots, turned towards the closest bandit, unsheathed his blade, and stabbed it through his back. He heard the splitting of bones the first time, and the second time all he heard was a scream. Easily dispatched. The bandits were reacting fast though, so Yagami ran for the prisoners and stood poised to protect them.

It was cold. Very cold. Sure, inside the cave was warm with it's fire, but the smoke burned the eyes and lit the nostrils, so it was almost more enjoyable to be freezing. Almost.

These bandits were a rough and tough group, most burly and snickering at the prospect of looting the oncoming trio spotted by the guards above the cave entrance. Axes were being sharpened, swords wiped of blood and grime. One bandit stood aside from the others, between the cold air of the cavern and the smoldering fire farther in. Quite unusually dressed for the climate, the "kid" as the bandits referred to him had only one piece of clothing suitable for the weather, and that was his long, orange-red scarf. It reminds him of fall, that shade of color. The scarf was rapped around the mouth of the man, while his left hand toyed with the end of his sword. He leaned against the cave wall on his right arm.

How he ended up here, in this position, he didn't know. All Yagami knew was that he wasn't where he should be. Since leaving home he made the "smart" choice to head north, and, well, that turned out perfectly. Oh how his dead, soldier of a father would scold him if he knew he was joined with bandits just to earn a living. Yagami looked towards the prisoners and sighed. Prisoners and looting villages wasn't something he had in mind. But what else was there? This was the only way he could earn his penny, despite his detest of violence. One of the bandits lumbered over to Yagami and told him he'd be with the "welcoming party" for their "guests". New recruits generally are though. First job and he's already being sent off to die. Wonderful.

He followed the others to a curve in the cave, waiting for the group so they could ambush them. Yeah, this was definitely not the line of work Yagami had in mind. His thoughts danced towards betrayal . . . depends how strong these three are. He'll keep his distance from the battle for now. He backed off slightly, waiting, his right hand freeing itself from the grip of his blade. and falling to the grip on his whip. Just in case.
