QUOTE(Combo Breaker Mint @ Feb 2 2009, 06:23 PM) *
What happened to the Cardinals? They had the game in the bag, and they gave the Steelers a free ticket in the final minute.

Well, I think it was coming with all the free yards the Steelers gave out with all the penalties and personal fouls they were throwing around. Honestly thought that Cardinals had come back and taken it but Steelers took it back.

How about that Harrison's 100 yard run? Call it a gamebreaker oh my god. I wish he wasn't a dick later in the game though because he really got the game for the Steelers.

QUOTE(Falkyn @ Jan 17 2009, 03:33 AM) *
It's not that they aren't kamas. It's that they're fantasy weapons based of kamas that an artist made overly ornate to make it "cooler."

Thank you. I thought I had made it clear that it was a fantastical reference, but it was to make my point. If you change the blade from a crescent to a hook its a kama plain and simple. I was trying to illustrate the reach issue. I have done martial arts too, and I am familiar as well.

Pardon my interjection, but kamas' reach easily exceed that of a hand gardening tool.

Not exactly the most historically accurate source, but think of kamas more like that. Definitely more axe-like as Falkyn said, and not nearly as useless as a sickle.

Are there any decent DS emulators? I haven't really kept up on that in a long time.

Uh Vague, Arthur is grouped with Alfred in your post, and I requested it with Midnight. Don't worry about it, I'm sure you meant what we asked xD

Well alright. Just out of curosity, did you ever watch The Decline of Western Civilization?

Actually, no I have not. I remember the title vaguely, however.

X, Circle Jerks, The Clash, The Adolescents, and most of that stuff listed is not hardcore punk. A lot of it is all either old school punk, or just 84' hardcore, to set you straight. I used to be waist deep into punk rock, but tastes evolved and changed, and gradually i got into harder music with similar messages. Plus, all the terrible recordings in punk kind of get annoying when you just want to hear some 84' hardcore (hello black flag recordings). It's really not better. Its just different. Some people like that you can get the same message, same speed and intensity, but with more articulate or harder music.

In terms of the terrible recordings, many of the albums have been re-released and the songs remastered (if that's the word).
And to be honest I threw in a bunch of the bands I had just gotten into. Picking this apart a little more: The Clash isn't really punk rock, just punk. Similar for the Dead Kenedys. And really, what I've heard from modern punk is pretty crappy. Now what kind of music are you talking about that has the same message, speed, and intensity?

To start, separating punk and punk rock into separate genres is just plain silly.

Anyway, only major old bands get re-mastered albums and stuff like that. Really great bands like Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Black Flag, and stuff like that still have shitty recordings and stuff. Modern punk isn't the music I meant, but while we are on the subject, a lot of modern punk/local punk bands today aren't bad at all. Kill Your Idols, Strike Anywhere, The Flatliners, Whiskey Rebels, Common Enemy, Annihilation Time, and others are really great.

Now, just because I feel it needs mention, Crust Punk and its spin-offs are far more intense, fast, and overall more hardcore punk than the older stuff that to me personally, just gets stale. Aus-Rotten is obviously quintessential, and then there are bands like Born/Dead, Discharge (and other assorted D-Beat), Nausea, Void, Amebix, Antischism, Avskum, Leftover Crack (Choking Victim, INDK, Morning Glory etc), and more.

I personally went from that older punk, to more modern street punk and hardcore punk, to Crust for a longer amount of time, which just gradually took me to more strictly hardcore or metal tastes. Such bands like Shai Hulud, The Banner, Municipal Waste, Folly, Winds of Plague, Life In Your Way, Catherine, and Darkest Hour to name a few. Darkest Hour in particular has lyrics that are very heavily punk influenced, telling of politics and rebellion and what not, but still with a more power, intense metal sound.

Well, I feel like I'm gonna get shot with all the metal lovers out here, but... uh... takealookeatsomegoodstuff Hardcore Punk Rock= better. Take a look at X, The Circle Jerks, The Clash(though they are a developed taste, you will prolly HATE their songs at first[like me]), The Adolescents, Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Milliions of Dead Cops, Angry Samoans, and a bunch of other stuff that I can't remember. Punk is a lot better than metal imo, and I used to listen to the rusty crap.

But no offense.

Captured and subdued, a sad, pathetic straggler left his fate in the hands of Agent Midnight. Even still, bleeding his life away onto the soiled warehouse floor, the arrogant prick couldn't help but put on a tough guy facade. Ever the merciful, if only just to get the necessary information out of his prey, Midnight questioned the dying man. Arthur watched in amazement as the fool blurted out some pivotal information in an attempt to frighten or intimidate Midnight. Bingooo.

Some really solid basic leads were acquired for the Numbers. Deadbolt Drucer, the Deadlockers, and perhaps even the Reavers were wrapped up in this. Arthur was a bit perplexed, as the calibur of these gangs was really unimpressive, especially for this level of crime, but maybe things had changed since past briefings. Regardless, it was something.

Before anything else could be milked from the fool, his wounded companion scolded him; clearly the more level headed of the two. It was a little late for that, but now getting further information would be difficult. But you know what instantly made getting more information rather impossible? When suddenly two bolts penetrated the throats of the captives. The bolts came from an unknown location; pinpointing it even posed trouble for Midnight and Grey. Surprisingly, and quite uncharacteristically, Midnight ordered a formal retreat of the team out from the warehouse. Seemed as if the operation was temporarily placed in abeyance until further notice. Regardless, Arthur couldn't help but feel relieved. He wasn't a fan of leaving cases cold, even if it was just sliding them off the burner, but this one was a frustrating one. The constant stream of combat was taking a toll on him; his past missions were generally more quick, one-two kills, and then out. Now he could finally stop slinking around, dealing with gangs and drug peddlers.

Without a word, Agent Azure Sixty - Three filed out of the premises in close quarters of his comrades, shooting Midnight a respectful glance, nodding with approval.

Awe man. I was hoping this was more like grappling and shit xD

Shield blocks are cool. Ideally you'd want to wait for a wide swipe and parry it off wide to the side so that they are wide fucking open to be cut in half, but thats just my opinion.
