So I've played some (but not in a while) and have a peg archer that I was planning to promo to peregrine knight as my lord, since I've always just liked peg knights and wyverns and swords. Thus my choice for peregrine knight. Is it all that possible to be successful with a peregrine knight as a lord? Or does it require too much support to be good? Thanks

I have tried using one but it ended as a hawk archer because the +15 avo is sweet.

You are free to try though

Thanks man. Would you say wyverns > pegs?
We'll see how much free time I end up with to play, but hopefully I can get a game in a week or so.

Non-Draco Promotes > Non-Hawk Pegasi Promotes.

There's no disputing that. Pegasi is just too frail, in all honesty. If there was a way to buff them just so that everyone doesn't always default automatically (without question) to Hawks, that'd be fantastic.

I thought of something like:

Falcoknight: Gains swords upon promotion, reduces weakness vs bows from 1.5x MT + 10 Hit to 1.15x MT + 0 Hit
Seraphknight: Gains bows (or lances) upon promotion, reduces weakness vs bows from 1.5x MT + 10 Hit to 1.15x MT + 0 Hit
Peregrine Knight: Gains swords upon promotion, reduces weakness vs bows from 1.5x MT + 10 Hit to 1.15x MT + 0 Hit

It's bad enough they're getting the 1.5x might, but because they lack the +15 avoid hawks get, the +10 hit means any bow user with massive investment in skill and luck can laugh at them with brave bows locked and loaded. In short, they are sitting ducks.

So far, no one has put forth any ideas as to how to make non-hawk pegasi promotes not suck. At least as far as I KNOW.

Just to put in perspective how they get raped by bows, here's a generic Peregrine Knight.

Peg. Archer -> Peregrine Kn. [Glass Cannon]
Stats at level 20/20
HP [0/7.5%]: 48.00
POW [2/17.5%]: 30.00
SKL [0/0%]: 24.00
SPD [2/0%]: 27.00
DEF [0/0%]: 8.00
RES [0/0%]: 18.00
LCK [2/15%]: 26.00

HP is at 48 and Defense is at 8, so it can survive one Reinfleche shot (and heavy great bow shot). This is the highest amount of avoid it can get while having 30 pow and surviving a fleche. Look what brave bow has against this thing:

Attacker vs. Defender
Atk: 34
Hit: 77
Crit: 4
Weapons Triangle?: WTN
Skill?: No
Effective?: Yes
Hits to KO: 2
Avg. Hits to KO: 1.83

That's much too high of a hitrate!

Oh, and what happens if you tryhard the dodge rate?

Peg. Archer -> Peregrine Kn. [Glass Cannon]
Stats at level 20/20
HP [0/0%]: 42.00
POW [2/17.5%]: 30.00
SKL [0/0%]: 24.00
SPD [2/7.5%]: 30.00
DEF [0/0%]: 8.00
RES [0/0%]: 18.00
LCK [2/15%]: 26.00

Highest evasion rate while keeping 30 pow. Let's see how that does!

Atk: 34
Hit: 71
Crit: 4
Weapons Triangle?: WTN
Skill?: No
Effective?: Yes
Hits to KO: 2
Avg. Hits to KO: 1.74

Still really bad, but not as bad as before. BUT...

Atk: 42
Hit: 86
Crit: 22
Weapons Triangle?: WTN
Skill?: Yes
Effective?: Yes
Hits to KO: 1
Avg. Hits to KO: 1.06

Now it dies to a reliable mithril bow. A SIMPLE. RELIABLE. MITHRIL BOW.

So even when you try to fix something it's weak to, it ends up being weak to something else. It's a lose-lose situation for non-hawk promoted pegasi units.

I'm not pulling this up to stop you from using those (feel free to use Peregrine Knights, I'm not going to stop you), I'm pulling this up to prove that those units need some serious buffs.

I suggested that pegasi be changed around so that they start with RES as good (or bad, in this case) as their DEF. Spread them evenly elsewhere in other stats that aren't HP or just put 'em all in POW. Then, when pegasi promote, hawks get shafted with no promotion bonuses other other than +6 or +8 RES.

Obviously that sounds kind of ridiculous, but the end result is supposed to be that hawks look the exact same, while all other pegasi gain less RES and more stats elsewhere.

Well, non-hawk pegs could use the extra stats, but the +10 hit still hurts them. At the least, hawks can counter that with +15 avoid...
