The moment of queasiness passed after a bit, but Paige didn't open her eyes until she heard the older man's voice. It took her only a few seconds to digest Dillon's words, and several possible theories sprung to mind. The way the shamaness presented them was less than smooth. "Does the academy expect foul play? There hasn't been much demonic activity around here, correct? Was that ship prepared for combat, or was it mostly scholars?"

She paused, taking a breath, collecting herself. "Let's go with that last one. Was it a ship with scholars, or one with combat-ready mages?"

Paige grinned. "You're very thorough, Rachna." Almost casually, she reached out with her mind, pushed her probe against Rachna. She was a mage, about as experienced as Paige herself. It was a new trick she had learned - rather than to completely open herself to the stream of energy in the air, send out a probe of consciousness to gauge specific points of interest. It was a much more safer way to learn a little bit about a person in a magical sense, and much less apt to cause headaches - most humans simply weren't built to take in all that information at once.

"Have you been sleeping well? When I can, I sleep like a baby. Unfortunately, usually I'm too queasy to get to that point." She gave a little sigh, gazing out into the ocean. "I think being abovedeck helps a little though. At the least, I'm closer to the ship's edge in case- well, you know."

What was she even saying, this was so stupid. "Sorry if I ramble, I tend to do that a whole lot more than I mean to." Paige looked out into the sea, before leaning over the railing a little. She watched the sea foam against the ship's edges, but closed her eyes after a moment, feeling queasy.

Oh, hello there, exploratory voyage! How are you today? Well, I'm fine, thanks for asking, very polite of you. What's that you're going to do? Oh, that sounds intriguing. Why, this'd be a great opportunity to learn more about the sea! And this time, it wouldn't even be taught by a half-insane old pirate, but by a highly trained Azgarthian mage! Well, I'd love to sign up! What's that? Do I have any skills? Of course! I took down a tidehunter once, you know. Yes, that kind of tidehunter. See the earrings? Pulled the teeth out myself! ...Well, no, not really, but I picked out which ones I wanted from its mouth, and the archer did the rest... but I'm still a shaman! Or dark mage, if you'd rather that. Maybe shamaness? I'm still not sure on terminology. But yes, I'd love to go! I'll go get my stuff!

Of course, none of that conversation happened, as it'd be firstly highly odd for a girl to talk to the idea of a expedition, and secondly, Paige only really went as a favour to a mage she'd met in Azgarth. A pleasant stout librarian called Sabine, she'd taken one look at the tome of Varni's and said that she could easily translate it. She told Paige what: if she'd take her place on an expedition on Azgarth's south sea, Sabine would translate the book. "Well," the girl had asked, "can I just leave it with you?" and Sabine had laughed, "of course not! How do you think Azgarth works? You help me, then I help you." She hadn't even really explained the details of the trip, they had to be gleaned from her fellow explorers. And she had to ask them in such a way to sound like she knew what she was talking about, to just weave it into conversation. Man, adventuring is hard. It's hard and nobody understands.

Another thing Paige had learned - boats were terrible. She as far more used to airships and pegasus-riding to get around. The hunt for Ahar's flying fang hadn't been so bad, as she'd kept her mind busy with work, but with nothing to do here but avoid being hit on by the creepy deckhand staves-mage (hey baby, wanna see my staff magic? no) and read. The light of the sun was far better than candlelight, and it seemed being abovedeck made her feel less queasy as the shamaness read. Today, she was working through "Shining Lance - Fiske of the Light" by an author whose name had long since been lost to time. The people Saint Fiske surrounded himself with were bizarre, and Paige couldn't quite figure out his relationship with his Lady Aoife. It seemed that nobody ever had.

She closed the book, sighing, as another hair strand fell into her eyes, despite her careful ribboning. Tying it back, she noticed one of the other explorers gazing out into the ocean. Which was odd, cause beside the storm ahead, there was nothing there. Make friends. Sidling up beside the girl - who was hardly any older than Paige herself - she gazed out into the sea as well.

"'Cha looking at? I'm Paige, don't think we've been introduced. Hi!"

Nice helmet Sed, now let's have some fun
The horns are big cause you've got none
(I'm talking about your member, can't be seen with eyes
Mine's bigger than you are lengthwise)

Spies, drinks, women galore
You've had your turn, here's Seth's roar
Keep goin' like that, you'll make me snore
See ya, kid, there's the door.

Hi there! Could I request one of Paige? (IMG:style_emoticons/blue/grin.gif)

(IMG:http://i219.photobucket.com/albums/cc34/2009478/Paigedoc-2.png)
Name: Paige Beoulve
Age: 19.
Class: Shamanness

Appearance:

Much to her dismay, Paige is very short, barely passing the five foot mark. Her hair, the colour of old hay, reaches down to the small of her back, where streams of pink call contrast into an otherwise glossy mane. Her eyes, bottle green, are almond shaped and otherwise ordinary. Her head is heart shaped, with small facial features that draw one's eye downward to a long neck. Shoulders that lean slightly inward lead to svelte arms and small, delicate hands. Her torso is thin other than her bust, which is to Paige's dismay above average in size. Her legs are long and linger down to medium-sized feet. Her skin is soft and slightly olive in pigment, slightly paler than her siblings due to her favor of indoors.

Thankfully, Paige's choice in clothing is not drab, black cloaks. In fact, it does nothing to suggest her class at all. She favours a long white blouse that ends just before her thighs, and a white skirt with skin-toned leggings. Around her shoulders is draped a brown mantle, which fights for room with a heavy backpack. The bangs of her hair are bound by a headband (repeatedly pushing hair out of her eyes gets rather dull), and her long hair is kept in place via a series of braids and bows, which are pain-stakingly placed and removed whenever she washes her hair. In her canvas backpack hide essentials: food, books, and clothing. Taking a place of honor nearest to the top is Varni's tome. As of late, Paige has grown a little antsy when the book is not in arm's reach.

Personality:

Paige is generally cheerful, but is occasionally reclusive and standoffish. Technically a noble, she doesn't really know proper manners or anything particularly ladylike. Paige is often reading, and tends to snap at someone when they disturb her from a book.

Thank you either way ;o

Name: Luiza Hastur
Age: 24.
Major/Degree: Major: linguistics. Minor: drama.
Hometown: Trenton, New Jersey. ( :v )
Place of Residence: Stark Dorm, however, has access to the family vacation house in Twin Lakes Park.
Job: Works as a waitress (and under the counter bartender) at the Capitol Grille, a high-end steakhouse.
Appearance:
  • Eyes - Luiza's eyes are a light blue, rather average by all accounts. Due to genetically thick blood, she uses blood thinners often. Unfortunately, this has tinted her sclera a light red. As most find this unappealing at best - and mistake them for pinkeye at worst - Luiza usually wears thick sunglasses. Her eyes are slightly myopic, so the sunglasses are treated to aid her vision.
  • Hair - Luiza's hair is kept short in a pixie cut. It is platinum blonde, and the bangs are kept long and pointed.
  • Skin - Her skin is pale and lightly freckled, very much reflective of her Russian / Italian heritage. It is otherwise free from blemishes. Luiza does have a pair of angel wings tattooed on her back. They're a source of embarrassment, having been acquired under inebriation, so she prefers to keep her back hidden.
  • Nose - One small golden stud piercing on the side of the nose.
  • Ears - Gold studded diamond earrings. Small, tasteful.
  • General Face - Pretty, almost cherubic, but not quite beautiful.
  • General Body - Luiza's body is thin and lithe - fitting, considering she received a scholarship to UMS for her diving prowess. A better word might be streamlined - her build is slim, her bust is small, and her legs are long. In Trenton, she indulged in soccer and ultimate Frisbee, but her main activity was swimming. Almost daily, she jogs near midnight - an eternally solitary affair, in which she pounds out the stress of the day to Bon Jovi and Swedish symphonic metal.
  • Physical Disabilities/Illnesses A genetic tendency for excessively thick blood - Luiza must take lots of blood thinners to keep herself normal, though it does have the unfortunate side effect of reddening her sclera. It is sometimes said that the Hasturs are known for their red eyes, but that's ridiculous, and certainly not anything perpetuated by Luiza. This is certainly nothing life-threatening, however, just a genetic trait that ought to be noted.
  • General Expression(s) - She is commonly blank faced, though it is rather typical for Luiza to smile (as it is with most people!). She often talks with her hands, and is known to attempt to crack her knuckles even when they do not need to be cracked. Her posture is usually straight, if a bit lazy. She prefers to wear sunglasses, blocking her reddened sclera.
  • Accent - Luiza speaks with a mishmash of metropolitan accents, borrowing heavily from that of North New Jerseyian. Her speech is riddled with Mafioso slang, which is not so much an affiliation so much as how everyone speaks like that in Trenton.
  • Clothing - For class, as with most things, form is preferred over function: pin-striped suits with ties are worn, leading to a large amount of unkind (and not necessarily untrue) comments. In the summer, she usually ditches the starched ensemble for lighter, but no less high-end skirts and shirts. In hanging out, she usually removes the coat section of the suit, and just maybe loosens the tie a little. For exercising, Luiza dons a red hoodie with a stylized gear logo on it (a freebie from her uncle) along with black running shorts. When swimming, she wears tanksuits, so as to cover her tattoo. As a server: Luiza wears a white collared shirt fully buttoned up to a bowtie, with a pair of black slacks. Over the shirt goes a tan-collared suit coat, buttoned.

Could I suggest Seth? It's fine if you don't want to pick me, considering my...flakiness...but this'd be a good way to get back in the swing of things! Seth has A Mission to do, and can fake being a mage well enough to get on board.

e: Now that I think of it, maybe Paige is better. She is a mage en route to Azgarth.

I think Zanzib won?

Seth + Amity v Sed and Nikang

Luther's back y'all, time to pay
Cause this time, I'm here to stay
You think you're good with your axe and hat
But lay on the floor, I'll call you doormat

Crosspistols loaded, ready to fight
Watch out Sed, don't catch a fright
As for Nikang, watch yourself
Amity's gonna put you on a shelf.

Wow, Cosimo was a total asshole! Paige supposed she should've known that, but the fact of the matter was 1) that she didn't really keep up on Marcelli gossip, and 2) the books she read romanticized princes to an outrageous extent. In a silly, small place in her mind, she had daydreamed about being swept off her feet by a handsome, dashing prince on a white horse. He would smell like strawberries and vanilla and have a fantastic castle with singing animated furniture and protect her from all harm. He would be a kind prince, but full of fury for his foes.

That prince, clearly, was not Cosimo. Death by slanderous tongue is as good a death as any, Paige thought to herself, but it won't do anyone any good in the middle of the wilderness. And then Nisha started off on a rant and stormed off. Fantastic, all of my companions are thirteen year old girls. The shamaness would not let an insult like that pass by unopposed, and she stamped after the thief, a fake, pleasant countenance appearing.

"Sorry," Paige said, smiling falsely, "but I'm Rivanollian. I'm not familiar with this town, or with nature in general. I gave a suggestion, now what do you have that's much better?" She paused, waiting for an answer. "I didn't think so! If you want to leave so badly, then leave! If not, screw your complaints to the sticking place, stop complaining, and come up with your own suggestion!" Her left hand burned, and Paige almost yelped, but managed to keep her face steady. Almost a practiced move, she sneaked a gaze at her hand. The blistering and vein distending common with dark magic was apparent on her left palm. Had I really gotten so angry I used magic by accident? Certainly, the girl didn't intend to use it on Nisha. She might not be a pleasant lady, but murder was never a reason. Ever! Why was she even thinking about this anyway.

Behind Nisha, Leone gave her a thumbs-up. Leone was all right in her book.

The yeti thing went down, Seth's petulant rage partially sated. What now filled his focus was a huge fatigue. While he'd known that using the bolt-explosive spell would be a wee bit risky, he hadn't known the full extent of the drain upon his person. It was like the spell had drained his very vitality, his vim and vigour (which, even though he hadn't realized it, it had). Basically, it was some bullshit. Even though it was the spy's own fault and not that of the house, he cursed it. If Seth had the strength, he would've cast the miniature fire spell to light the whole place up, to hell with the likelihood of he himself perishign. He was a big fan of cutting off his nose to spite his face.

"Yeah, I'm fucked up pretty bad," he grunted. The worst part was, he didn't even have an arm half-hanging off or something to show for it. Seth just looked like a puss, slumped against the wall. He would've actually preferred some massive bodily injury or a large burn to show for his pains. "I'm not just being a puss, either," the spy added, even through his pain careful to make sure nobody thought he was a wimp, "I don't think I can stand on my own." Seth began trying, though, pushing himself up with his arms. It wasn't working too well, though. He was probably going to fall over again.

So I guess I just put a thing in here 8D

Leon Fletcher - you may have heard of Leon so I think a description is unnecessary. YOU ARE THE ARTIST DAWG (well actually you're just clicking a menu here but bygones = bygones)

Traits: Kleptomaniac, Lucky, Athletic, Excitable, Perceptive, and maybe Natural Cook.

Colour: dark blue. Zodiac: Leo.

Also Bethany. Her clothes were actually pretty modern so I don't think it should be too hard to implement!

Traits: Neurotic, Clumsy, Hopeless Romantic, Great Kisser, Loner, Friendly.

Color: green! Zodiac: Capricorn.

Living arrangements: whatever is best comedy. Forgive me if these traits overlap or something I haven't played Sims for years.

There's Seth Luther. He's a crazy crosspistol spy.
Pilgrimage Trial 53 posts.

And Paige's have a sad tendency to croak.
Don't Get Out of the Boat
Treasure Hunt (This one's ongoing!)
Monster Hunter (This one too!)
There's also Terrible Travel for Terrific Tailor which I can't find, but these should show some character disparity.

A thing happened, then suddenly he and Abbey were fighting gargoyles. Seth took it in stride. Beside, after that embarrassment suffered at the hands of the floorboards (or, y'know, whorls or whatever hand analogue one could attribute to wood), the spy was eager to prove himself again to his fellow archer. He looked about for a weapon. Though he was loathe to forgo his crosspistols, the simple fact of the matter was they weren't too effective in killing a gargoyle.

He positioned himself at the edge of the circle, almost close enough to be set aflame. Nearby was a small table and - A lamp. Mind cognizant in ways no mortal man should ever want, Seth made a plan. He shouted something regarding his familiarity with gargoyle's mother and the odd resemblance of noses between it and him, and the beast charged. Reaching into his combat repertoire, Seth pulled out a combat roll, zipping forward under the beast's heavy attack. The spy leaped for the lamp, grabbing it before the gargoyle had a chance to turn itself completely. Seth waited, politely, for a moment, for it to turn around. When it had, he smashed it across the face with the lamp. It crumpled to the ground, horns licked by flames. A shot from a Flare bolt immobilized it, white phosphorus burning a molten hole in its gut. From a corner of his eye, the spy observed Abbey's own dispatching of her gargoyle, noticing her bolt : ocularis method.

"Looks like the eyes have it," he said, reloading the crossbow. As he aimed down sights for a finisher, another thing happened (Seth could not quite comprehend what) and the essence of the gargoyle was gone, instead flowing toward an abomination. Most men would usually immediately draw their attention to the huge yeti. Not Seth Luther.

"Ah, B.S." He began swearing at the abomination. "Kill stealer!"

There was only one recourse for this.

Reaching into his cloak, Seth drew two small empty glass jars, about the approximate size and shape of crosspistol bolts. At their flat sides were small, pointed grooves. The spy popped their lids and closed his eyes, concentrating. He forced energy into them, almost like his cigarette spell, but in a far greater capacity. The sage he had threatened to learn the ability had warned him that it was not something a person with limited magical talent - like Seth - should be doing, but the spy had shot him in the foot and politely told him to continue teaching. It was draining, almost like running a marathon. The spy felt the negative pull of energy, or mana, he supposed, trying to force itself back into his body."No, damnit, I need you there," he swore at the jars. I wish I was a damn mage. They have it easy.

Determination fueling him more than energy, Seth viewed the yeti as Sed charged into it. While, for a moment, he toyed with the idea of killing two birds with one stone (er, two magic jars), he struck down the idea. Sed's punishment would be much slower and crueler. For now, he contented himself with verbal abuse of the stupid dragon."For God's sake, you damn manakete, get out of the way or I'm blasting you too!" The Sed-beast roared at him, and in response, he flipped it off. "Fine. Let it kill you! I honestly do not give a fuck." And he crossed his arms, like a petulant toddler, until the dragon pulled back, readying another rush and crush. "Was that so hard?" muttered Seth, before another muttered "Neljä" set a tiny fire in the two bolt-jars. He aimed, fired.

The jars were much heavier than average bolts, but their ballistic path still struck true, one landing in the yeti's fur and another underneath it. Now, for the good part. He made a crushing gesture with his hands. "Jyristä!" Seth crowed, and the jars exploded into brown-and-black energy. The beast howled at that, gnashing its teeth. But more than that, he wasn't quite sure. The spy gasped for breath, falling into a sitting position because he literally could not support himself otherwise. He was no mage, and what would've been easy for Elly cost Seth a great deal. He would have to attack from a stationary position, which was completely against his usual style.

"B.S.," he grumbled again, dragging himself against a wall. He reloaded his crossbow with a standard bolt. If Abbey or the Lancer was in trouble, he'd help, but otherwise...eh, they could deal with it without him.

Blister
E-Rank Dark Spell

This variation of Malice is rather subtle in its casting, though devious in its effect. The caster must simply visualize one of their own bodily features (such as broken teeth or unsightly pimples) on the intended target, and perform a few hand gestures. The target will immediately gain the imagined features, and be subject to the effects therein. Though this spell is easily reversed at the caster's will or by the most inexperienced curate, it is the weapon of choice for old, twisted necromancers. The uglier the caster, the harsher the effects. For these reasons, it is often called Phoenix's Revenge.

Tumor
B-Rank Dark Spell
A foul spell written by a deranged surgeon, Tumor causes a sudden mutatious growth in the target. The growth, though benign and removable by a trained curate, can render the target completely combat ineffective. Most Dark practitioners prefer to target limbs, or perhaps the face, if they're feeling cruel. Though foul, Tumor's ease of use makes it a popular anti-aerial unit spell, as wings can be Tumored to send rider and mount spiraling to earth.
